Portions of North Texas are under a rare level 4 of 5 risk:

The First Alert Weather Team expects the storms to enter from the north at the end of day:

This line will get into the Metroplex some time between 8 p.m. - 11 p.m.  You'll need to stay weather aware and keep up to date on the CBS News App, CBS News Texas social media and YouTube pages as we'll be showing the Tony Awards.

Please be inside a safe structure and not out on the road when this storm arrives!

The highest threat is damaging winds up to 80mph. These winds will be on the leading edge of the line of storms. The hatch marks mean winds up to 75 mph are expected for that area:

We'll watch for bowing segments for the strongest winds and QLCS tornadoes (non-supercell tornadoes that form on corners of bowing segments). The powerful winds could also deliver large hail. The hatch marks in the hail outlook map means hail 2" or larger:

This is looking to be a significant severe weather threat for Sunday night. Please don't travel into this storm. Please shelter in a sturdy building. If you live in mobile housing, find a safe place for your family across the evening.

We are expecting a minor severe weather threat on Monday and Tuesday, but significant rainfall is possible bringing an isolated flooding risk. Unsettled weather will be with us most of the work week. Please stay posted daily on what is ahead of you and plan accordingly.
