Jessica Burch

Jessica Burch is a meteorologist at CBS News Bay Area who is also part of CBS News and Station's national weather reporting team, seen daily on the division's national broadcasts shows and digital platforms.

Burch joined the CBS News Bay Area weather team in 2022 and has been involved in the station's coverage of major storms and wildfires in the region.

Before joining CBS News Bay Area, Burch was a meteorologist at KRCR-TV in Redding, California.

In addition to her work as a meteorologist, Burch is an officer in the California Army National Guard, flying Blackhawk helicopters in a MEDEVAC Unit based out of Sacramento.

She began working on her private pilot's license when she was 15. Burch believes her passions for weather and aviation go hand in hand. As a military pilot, she knows that lives depend on accurate forecasts before and during flights.

She graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she participated in ROTC and was commissioned as an Army Officer in 2019.

When she's not delivering forecasts for CBS News Bay Area, Burch enjoys flying above San Francisco and walking with her black lab, Chopper.
