The victims, a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were standing outside when someone inside a black sedan pulled up and fired shots at them.
As officers investigated, the driver tried to speed off — and hit and dragged an officer, police said. The officer fell to the ground, and the officer's weapon discharged.

The shooters fled the scene, and there was no one in custody late Thursday.
The seniors living at Fannie Emanuel said the problem with the elevators not working has gotten worse over the past two to three years.
